FAKE Mythology | Creation Story and Family Tree (part 2)
Before I jump into story telling, I need to point out that I don't actual believe in these gods and goddesses. I'm doing this for the stories. Also this is going to be difficult not to do sarcastically (thanks Overly Sarcastic Productions). So without further ado, here we go!
————
Ātaahua (meaning beauty) is a beautiful goddess. Her beauty surpasses that of the natural beauty in the world. All who gaze upon her, fall in love and beg at her feet for her to marry them. Ātaahua’s beauty seemed to be too much for one being, but she did not see it that way. Ātaahua felt like her beauty was diminishing and that she was getting fatter. When Ātaahua asked humanity what she could do, they responded with their own question.
“Beautiful goddess Ātaahua, might we ask what ‘fat’ you speak of? You look no different to us.”
Ātaahua stood a gasp. It was nice of humanity to be kind to her, but Ātaahua didn't believe them. She looked down at her stomach and started to prod the fat. She frowned and stormed off to go figure out a solution.
Whaea (meaning mother) let out a shriek the mothers of humanity knew all to well. They laid down plants for Whaeha to lay on, wet rags to cool her, and dry rags to clean up bodily fluids. Whaeha laid down on the plants and the mothers of humanity braced themselves. After all, this was a goddess who was due. Whaeha knew the hardships mothers went through, and braced herself. Suddenly, there was an explosion of sorts that surprised Whaeha. She jumped with fear, and out popped her twins. Two of the closest mothers caught them with grace, only to find they were 5 years of age. Whaeha cried tears of joy none the less and held them close to her. She gave them clothing and named them Toa (meaning warrior) and Mokowā (meaning space). Mokowā’s hair was silky, wavy, and had streaks of darkness in it. Her face was also scattered with freckles. Thus Whaeha named her after the heavens above. Toa was named warrior, because she took a liking to the hunting the men were doing. Toa walked away from her mother and crafted herself a taiaha. She showed the hunters with pride and asked to join. When the dismissed her, she exploded with anger and grew up by a dozen years. The hunters, seeing her power, allowed her to join them. Meanwhile, Mokowā was inspecting the heavens above and saw the radiant Sun. She tried reaching it, but alas she was too young and short. Then she saw her sister magically grow older and attempted to do the same. Unfortunately, her sister seemed to be graced with the more magical power. Mokowā came to her mother aksing to assistance, so her mother kissed her forehead and Mokowā magicallt grew older by a dozen years. She was then able to reach the Sun and decided it was a good fit for her.
While Mokowā and the handsome god (who is actually Uira (meaning lightning)) were speaking, Aroha drew the attention of Raro (meaning underworld). He was annoyed that someone was messing with the mountain that lead to the Underworld. He preferred it to be bar and ugly, so humanity would know that they were dying when entering the Underworld. Raro phased through the Earth and was near ready to kill the person who was messing with his mountain, when Aroha turned around. Stricken with her beauty (and Ātaahua’s match making), he stopped and stared. Aroha was puzzled by this young man who was a little older than herself. She was also so alarmed by his overall exhausted look that she fainted. Raro, not knowing what to do, carried her down into the Underworld to care for her.

Whaeha giving birth and making her child grow older, substantially diminished her beauty. Ātaahua, of course, loved this. But she also felt pity on her sister and decided to give her some of the stolen beauty. Ātaahua waited till it was night and went to go pour some of the beauty onto her sister, but found the beauty to be hesitant and stubborn. She shook the vase, but nothing came out. She tapped the vase, but still nothing. She then reached her hand inside the vase and found the beauty clung to her. Ātaahua struggled and hit the vase, breaking it open. Some of the beauty fell onto her sister, but the rest seeped into Ātaahua. Her beauty was already unmatched and brilliantly astounding, but now with the added beauty she was glowing. Ātaahua had accidentally turned herself into a being of pure beauty, thus she was literally glowing. Then the light began to sap off her, and she began to feel sick. The light pulled itself off of Ātaahua to form a beautiful (but not quite as beautiful as Ātaahua) goddess. Ātaahua passed out from her sickness, but not before naming her "child" Aroha (meaning love). Aroha was ~17 when she was "born", so she wandered around her surroundings.
Aroha found it hard to see, seeing as how it was night, so she flew up to the moon. Her plan was to politely ask to the moon to bring back the light, but instead found a crying goddess. She asked the crying goddess her name. The goddess sniffled that her name was Mokowā, When Aroha asked her why she was crying, Mokowā responded by saying that she met this astoundingly handsome god, but she didn’t know his name. Mokowā went on to tell how she went to go talk to him, but he went to sleep in a mountain before she could talk to him. Aroha told her that if she wanted the god to wake, she would have to turn it day. Mokowā cried for a few minutes before agreeing. Aroha went down to the mountain Mokowā had told her about, and when it turned day she found it to be quite ugly and bare. She decided that to prick her finger and allow her blood to turn into fruit trees. As she was pricking her fingers and placing her blood in the Earth, she failed to notice the handsome god Mokowā spoke of exiting his mountain. Mokowā, however, did take notice and flew down to greet him. While Mokowā and the handsome god (who is actually Uira (meaning lightning)) were speaking, Aroha drew the attention of Raro (meaning underworld).
