FAKE Myths | Creation Story and Family Tree (part 1)
Before I jump into story telling, I need to point out that I don't actual believe in these gods and goddesses. I'm doing this for the stories. Also this is going to be difficult not to do sarcastically (thanks Overly Sarcastic Productions). So without further ado, here we go!

In the beginning, there was nothing but darkness. From a single point in the darkness, spawned Nui. The Great One. The one destined to create the universe and create Uira and Raro. The Great Nui began pulling bits and pieces of the darkness to create matter, some light, and creatures. Nui spent hundreds of years sculpting and tweaking the cosmos. After the universe was created, even with little light, Nui looked at all their work and smiled contently. The universe seemed perfect. Except, Nui was lonely. The floating balls of matter Nui named planets were lonely and desolate. It was true there was creatures like trees and bears, but trees and bears are incapable of interesting conversations. That’s when Nui decided to create humanity. Nui spent several dozen decades creating mankind as they needed to be the perfect companions.
Once finished, Nui found a spot off the coast of a small island in the North Pacific Ocean. They took a seat in the ocean and began crafting Uira. Nui squinted through the mostly-darkness. It was true he had created light, the planets, creatures, and humans, but there wasn’t enough joy or hope or intelligence. The humans could run, laugh, eat, and talk but there wasn’t much else for them to do. They were tiny immortal beings only the size of Nui’s pinkie toe. The humans were bored. Nui’s finest creation yet was irrated at the nothingness that was their existence. While Nui was pondering how to improve humanity’s existence, there was a sudden blinding flash of light.
A beautiful goddess by the name of Ātaahua suddenly appeared. She glimmered and added light to the world. She stared down at Nui’s humanity and frowned. She found them to be too plain and boring. Ātaahua kisses humanity, giving it love and beauty. The humans found joy in their lives by admiring one another and spreading love. They found a reason to be immortal and began thanking Ātaahua and praising her. Uira, in a fit of jealous rage, ripped humanity of its immortality. Ātaahua, in retaliation of seeing humanity die, gave them the ability to reproduce.
Ātaahua wasn’t the only new goddess, though. In her blindness of the beauty of humanity, she failed to recognize her sister. Her sister was named Whaea was more bitter and protective. Whaea came down to the island next to where Nui sat, and saw her sister blessing humanity with beauty and love. Ātaahua was matching humans up and watching them fall in love. Whaea didn’t like the fact that her sister just gave away gifts, so she assigned half of humanity the task with childbirth. A painful task that followed 9 months of pain. Ātaahua saw humanity suffering at the hands of her sister. Whaeha was getting praised for giving motherhood, even though it required pain. Ātaahua didn’t like seeing some mothers give up their beauty for their children, so she plotted against her sister.
That night, while Whaea was sleeping, Ātaahua stole some of her beauty by trapping it in a vase. The morning Whaea awoke, she was less beautiful. Not only that, but she was pregnant with twins. A fate her sister had divised as punishment for hurting humanity. But Whaea’s followers didn’t mind. If anything, they were pleased Whaea was going to share the joy of childbirth herself.
Meanwhile, Nui had finished sculpting Uira who was soon brought to life. Uira looked at humanity and the heavens, and thought that they could both use some adjustments. He fashioned himself a Tewhatewha out of the finest wood. He then swirled the heavens around with it and commanded lighting to strike the Earth. Where the lighting stroke, a mountain grew in its place. The locals named it Mount Tarawera. Uira then looked at the frightened humanity and gave the half that wasn’t incharge of childbirth manhood.
While Nui was in the middle of completing Raro, a human died and got buried in Nui’s clay on accident. This was because humanity mistook it for one of their mountains. Unfortunately, Nui didn’t realize until it was time for Raro to be brought to life. Nui tried several times, but nothing happened. Ātaahua noticed Nui was having troubles, and came over to help. She tried giving Raro some love, but most of it reflected and hit Uira. She frowned and called for her sister to help. Whaea, who looked 7 months pregnant even though she was only 7 hours into her pregnancy, came over and gave Raro some life force. This did not work, however. Uira was finally summoned. He vomited onto his brother-to-be due to the smell of the dead human. This brought Raro to life. Well, sort of. Due to the fact that he was built with someone dead inside and was brought to life with vomit, Nui had no choice but to send his second born son to his own realm below Earth’s. Raro names it the Underworld (so after himself) and started to build it up. But before he left, he cursed the species that made him die before he was “born” to join him in the Underworld when they die. Uira tried to fix his mistake, but to no prevail.
Nui yawned and all eyes turned. Nui dug themselves a hole in the ocean and moved into it. Nui commanded that everyone live in peace, and that his head be used as an island. Nui then proceeded to fall asleep in their hole in the water with other the top of their head sticking out. Uira helped transfer some of the humans to Nui’s head before heading up to the heavens. Ātaahua sat with her pregnant sister and the humans.

I’ll write more later. But right now I’m tired. I stayed up later than I wanted. Quality story, though.
