Let's Talk: An Important Coming Out
I'm not talking about some celebrity's coming out. I'm talking about myself. I've been carrying this on my chest for a while and decided I was ready to tell you. I understand this'll probably be hard for you to stomach, but it needed to be said. I can't keep pretending to be someone I'm not. This isn't a joke. There's nothing funny about this situation at all. I am who I am, and who I am is not a joke. When I first came out to my friends and family, they were very accepting. I didn't expect to get such a warm welcome, but I did. Being true to who I am at this day and age is very risky. I could get harassed and even shunned. There will be those who simply accept and those who will be overly dramatic with their responses. I have always been who I am, and always will be. I hope my coming out does not impair how you see me.
